How I make my own float frames for canvases
I love producing paintings for clients that are ready to hang up. I know myself that if I got a canvas that I needed to frame afterwards, I'd put it off for far too long! (as most people would…life gets busy!) So I love eliminating that problem for you. But for a little insight, here is how I make my own float frames 🖼 I've been asked many times to show this process so I finally got around to filming it from start to finish. 1. Glue 2 pieces of primed stripwood at a perpendicular angle 2. Cut them to the size you need. If you have a 40x50cm canvas, I add 6cm to each side so I cut 2x46cm and 2x56cm strips. 3. Glue them together using the band strap clamp, which I got on amazon. 4. Once the glue has dried, drill 4 holes, (one on each side) and 2 holes about a third of the way down for the hanging wire. 5. Attach the hanging wire. 6. Centre your canvas using spacers and/or playing cards then screw in your canvas from the back. It takes a bit of getting used to, but if you're finding yourself needing frames every other day it's a good, cost-effective way of framing all your paintings 🤍 #LiveWeddingPainting #WeddingPainting #LiveWeddingPaintingIreland #LiveWeddingPainter
