How Make A Rotational Casting Machine - It’s Easy!
Rotational casting is the best way to make hollow resin parts. Slush casting is harder and less reliable. It’s really easy to make your own rotocasting machine; you can do it with simple tools and cheap materials. This video will show you how to design and build a machine that suits your needs. If you have questions about the build ask them in the comments below! You will need: Lumber: 2 - 1”x 2” 8 feet long 1 - 2” x 4” 8 feet long Hardware: 2 - 1/4” bolts 3“ long 2 - 1/4” bolts 4 1/2“ long 4 - 1/4” nuts 12 - 1/4” fender washers 16 - 1 1/2” drywall screws 4 - 2 1/2” drywall screws Wood Glue Tools: Hand saw Drill 5/16” drill bit Countersink drill bit to fit the drywall screws. Note: Clamps would be very handy but not required. In the video I make the spacers using a holesaw on a drill press. The spacer does not need to be round. It can be a square made out of the 1 by 2 inch lumber. Design the stand that best fits your needs. Be sure to leave a 2” space around the outer frame on the sides and a 3-4” space on the bottom. Have fun and let me know how your machine turns out!
