1. Make it personal--Showcase who you are, they want to get to know you.
2. Make it specific to dentistry--Explain how your experiences are related to dentistry.
3. Make it interesting-- They don't want to read something that is boring
4. Edit-- Have many people read and edit it
5. Show growth-- Showing how you have grown is one of the most powerful
6. You can address weaknesses-- This is an opportunity to spin weaknesses in your application into strengths or show growth
7. Give yourself lots of time-- Start working on your Personal statement now. Think about the experiences you want to share. How you will tie it all together.
