Rusty Squid's team of puppeteers, programmers, designers and engineers have been tucked away in their secret lab working late into the night to get prototype robot V3 ready for the streets of Bristol. Systems integration in robotics alone is a challenge. Software, sensors, mechanics, communications and electronics must all work seamlessly together. But when Rusty Squid then add a strong design practice and creative integrity on top of that, that's when the work gets really interesting. 'How to Build a Robot' captures a unique social experiment that explores primal kinaesthetic empathy, so that the public drop their guard, open up emotionally and welcome a machine into their lives.
