I built this 8 foot long heavy duty workbench using one sheet of 1 1/8" plywood.
The materials needed to make it just like I did are:
1 sheet 1 1/8" plywood
3 8 foot 2x4s
1/2 sheet of 1/2" plywood
2" and 3 1/2 " wood screws
2 quarts of old based polyurethane
I built this for woodworking but it would make a great bench for any general purpose use. Eventually, I'm going to add a shelf down below. I finished it with an oil based polyurethane satin finish.
