How to check engine code on 91-95 e36 BMW

This is how to check the engine codes on a early obd1 E36. Works on e30 as well. Steps. 1. turn car to on position ( Don't start/turn to ignition) 2. Stomp on GAS pedal to floor and all the way back A few notes.... Door Must Be Closed. Look up the codes for whatever you have. Don't be afraid to do a little work. Someone even posted them in the comments section. Yes, It's the Gas Pedal not the brake pedal... If you don't have any codes it's not going to show anything. Results may vary. Not perfect, but seems to work for a lot of people.
