It's an important step! So, don't just pick random colors! Think about how the colors look together. How do they transition from one to the next? Do the colors work together? Remember when you are creating an triple ombre that you will need FOUR colors. You will be moving from Color 1 to Color 2, then Color 2 to Color 3, and finally Color 3 to Color 4 to create your ombre. You can use any recipe you want, but you do want to make sure it is a slow mover! You will need a lot of time to create your ombre. This is the recipe I use to make this soap: 27% Sweet Almond Oil 27% Sunflower Oil 18% Avocado Oil 18% Coconut Oil 10% Palm Oil 5% Super Fat 29.5% Water Discount (when I say water discount I mean the water weight as percent of oils) Note: You can replace the palm oil with tallow or lard if you want! Next you are going to split your batch up in to three equal parts. Take the first part and divide it up in to a 30/70 split. Add color 1 to the 30% portion and color 2 to the 70% portion. Mix and add fragrance. Start with color 1 and pour a small amount down the length and back of the soap mold. Then add a little bit of color two to color one and repeat the pour (pour about as much into the mold as you added into the cup). Keep doing that until you run out of soap. Repeat the same steps for layer 2 and layer 3. You can tilt your mold at an angle and lower it a little with each layer. or leave it flat. Each will create unique results.
