This tutorial will show you a fun spin on tie-dyeing called "ice dye".
You will need:
- Fabric (cotton works best)
- Soda ash (https://www.dickblick.com/products/jacquard-soda-ash-dye-fixer/) OR MAKE YOUR OWN out of baking soda! (https://www.thoughtco.com/make-sodium-carbonate-from-sodium-bicarbonate-608266)
- Powdered dye (I used Jacquard Procion MX Cold Water Dye: https://www.dickblick.com/products/jacquard-procion-mx-fiber-reactive-cold-water-dye/?gclid=CjwKCAjwssD0BRBIEiwA-JP5rHJyipLlO5Y3-vglQ9nrGItb_H_HtZyHMANW3wTroRczAyUvXjNtBBoCt0sQAvD_BwE)
- Drying/cooling rack to keep fabric from sitting in dye
- Tub to catch dye
- Gloves
- Lots of ice!
