A beginner friendly tutorial for learning how to do a hydroblade in figure skating! Today's video is a fun and easy tutorial for one of my new favorite ice skating tricks. I set a goal to put a hydroblade in my showcase programs for National Showcase this summer and get as low as I can. I was able to significantly improve mine in just a few months, so here are some tips + tricks that helped me! My best advice for this skating trick is to embrace falling and making mistakes. That will help you learn where to balance your weight and most importantly what it will feel like. Skaters with flexible hips will have an easier time with this one, but even without naturally flexible hips you can do this!
