Error code e21 means that there is a problem with drainage. In this case, the washing machine cannot drain water effectively, primarily due to some blockage. As a result, water will take too long before draining, or it may not drain at all. The following are some of the common causes of the error code e21: Blocked filter The error may show if your filter is blocked by debris or dirt due to not frequently cleaning it. Therefore, the machine will drain very slowly. Blocked drain hose Lint or dirt may get into the drain hose and, if not removed, will accumulate over time. After it is blocked, water flowing out will drain slowly, causing the error code. Damaged drain pump Foreign objects may lodge into the drain pump or wear out over time. Therefore, it cannot effectively drive water out of the washer, resulting in a drainage problem. Now, let’s look at the best solutions you can apply to fix the error code e21 Clean the filter The filter needs to be cleaned regularly to avoid blockage. To clean the filter; ⦁ Open the cover of the pump on the backside of the washer. ⦁ Place a tray on the floor, turn the filter anti-clockwise, and ensure all the water comes out. ⦁ When all the water has drained out, take out the filter ⦁ Remove any particles lodged in the filter. ⦁ Clean the filter with clean water. ⦁ When done, place it back in the washer. Clean the drain hose. The drain hose needs to be maintained regularly to prevent blockage. To clean the drain hose; ⦁ The hose is at the backside of the washing machine, and it is detachable. ⦁ Place a container at the bottom, as water retained in the hose may flow out. ⦁ Run it through a running tap or a garden hose outside to clear out any debris stuck in the hose. ⦁ Place it back in the machine. Replace the drain pump. If the first two do not resolve the issue, you may need to replace the pump. ⦁ Place the washer sideways and open the washer cover at the bottom to access the pump. ⦁ Remove the drain pump and replace it with a new one.  ⦁ Identify the model number of your washing machine so you can get the right drain pump.
