How to Install & Verify pyPicoSDK with Python | PicoScope Setup Guide
Welcome back to our series on installing and running Python with the Pi Pico SDK! In this tutorial, we walk you through installing the pyPicoSDK and all the necessary Python libraries you need to start controlling your PicoScope straight away. Building on our previous episode where we set up Python and VS Code, this video covers: - Downloading the Drivers: How to find and download the official 64-bit PicoSDK drivers for supported oscilloscopes (including the 6000E, 3000E, and 5000D series) directly from the PicoTech website . - Installing the Python Package: Using the VS Code terminal to run pip install pypicosdk, which installs the Python package and NumPy to talk directly to the C drivers . - Running GitHub Examples: Accessing the official PicoTech GitHub to download a simple block capture script . - Visualizing Data: Installing matplotlib to act as our plotting UI. - Testing and Verification: Verifying your oscilloscope connection with PicoScope 7, testing the built-in signal generator, and running the Python script to successfully plot a sine wave. Make sure to like and subscribe so you don't miss our next episode, where we will be delving into the individual functions and creating our very own pyPicoSDK Python script from scratch! 🌍Find out more here: Download the PicoSDK drivers here: https://www.picotech.com/downloads Find our GitHub examples here: https://github.com/JamesPicoTech/pyPicoSDK ------------------------------------------------------- 🔽 Links 🔽 - PicoScope A-Z - https://www.picotech.com/library/a-to-z Newsletter - https://picotech.us13.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=f8f1e08332ca724b4d5d6afab&id=4f572f8087 Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/pico.technology/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/picotechnologyltd/ ------------------------------------------------------- #technology #PicoScope #Python #PiPicoSDK #Oscilloscope #PythonProgramming #VSCode #PicoTechnology #Electronics #DataAcquisition #Engineering
