Bias binding is used for projects and quilts with a curved edge. It only takes 1/2 yard of fabric to make six yards of bias binding. This makes the going around curves and scallops on quilts easy without any puckers or pleats.
This binding can also be used on regular quilts without the curves, but it would be easier to make a straight of the grain binding such as in my video for how to make binding.
