When Bubble Glazing, I prefer to create bubbles from a mixture of clean water, Dawn dish soap & underglaze. (I recommend choosing a darker colored underglaze.) After I bubble glaze my greenware piece, I will bisque fire it & then brush on three coats of clear glaze.
Some artists choose to Bubble Glaze with glaze on bisqueware. Either approach will work, but I prefer Bubble Glazing on greenware and clear glazing once the piece is bisque fired because the fired pieces are more durable & easier for students to handle.
