Today I'm going to recreate the infamous Chicago liquor, Malört, from scratch. This bitter alcohol is a love-it-or-hate-it spirit that is very polarizing.
I experiment with different strengths of herbs and botanicals to use to recreate the recipe of Malort.

4 g Wormwood
4 Allspice Berries
2 Star Anise pieces (not full stars)
2 g Juniper Berries
2 g Elder Flower
200 mL Vodka
50 mL Simple Syrup
