How to make Prisms in Photoshop.
This is a quick tutorial on how to make some beautiful prism effects in Photoshop. Sorry if any of this is unclear. I'm recovering from a cold, and I tend to ramble a bit. Making a prism is very easy once you know what you're doing! Here's a breakdown of the steps I take in the video: 1. Make a white shape on a blank layer. I keep the background black so it's easy to see. 2. Go to Filter - Distort - Wave and set your parameters or choose Random 3. Go to Filter - Blur - Radial Blur. Set the amount to 100, the Blur Method to Zoom, and the Quality to Best (if you want it to be clean) 4. Do this one or two more times, the exact same steps. 5. Create a new blank layer, and Right Click - Clipping Mask 6. Duplicate this and the layer under it twice. 7. Use the Paint Bucket Tool to turn the top Clipping Mask Red, the middle Clipping Mask Green, and the bottom Clipping mask Blue. 8. Merge each of these Clipping Masks down to the layer they're over. 9. Set the Blend Mode to Linear Dodge (Add) for each of these. 10. Offset them in the way that looks best to you! I personally like to transform the size of them. I usually make the Red layer the biggest, leave green alone, and make the Blue layer smaller. You can offset the rotation or position if you'd like. Experiment around and have fun with it!
