Making queens is important not only to make it much easier to spot her in the hive, but also, especially for larger operations, telling the age of the queen.
Reminder of what colors correspond to years-
White- 1-6
Yellow- 2-7
Red- 3-8
Green- 4-9
Blue- 5-0
