how to meditating?
I think I said it in the video a good amount, but I'd like to reiterate that this is what meditation is in my view. I'm not an expert meditator, or a Buddhist scholar, or a medical professional. These are simply my ideas influenced by my experiences, thoughts, and the things I've read. This is a very deep subject, and this video only touches on what I believe the core ideas are, influenced by my temperament as a person. I also mentioned in the video that this "path" is hard. Both in the sense that constant mindfulness can be very taxing, and in the sense that facing your fears is hard. I'm always reminded of The Lord of the Rings, where Frodo is tasked with bringing the Ring of Power to Mount Doom. In that story, they frequently remind Frodo that the burden of the ring is his only, and that he must walk the path alone. In a similar way, the burden of facing your mind is yours alone, and in that sense the path can be frightening. But that is not to discourage anyone, it may be easy for you or it may be hard. Either way, I think there is clearly something worth investigating here.
