In this video we discuss how to quickly move a row or multiple rows up or down in excel. We go through a detailed example step by step of the process. Transcript/notes Lets say that you need to move around a row or rows in excel. As an example, say we want to move row 4, employee 3 to down below row 11, employee 10. To do this, left click on the row number, number 4, this will highlight the entire row as you see here. Next, hold down the shift key and move the cursor to the bottom border of the row in the worksheet, you will see the cursor turn into an 4 pointer arrow. From here, keep holding down the shift key, and left click and hold, and move the cursor down, as you do this, you will see this green line appear to help guide you. When this green line gets to where you want to move the row, here, below row 11, or employee 10, release the click and hold and shift key, and now the row has been moved. You can also move multiple adjacent rows at one time, just left click and hold on the first row you want to move and drag down over the other rows you want to move, then release the click and hold so all of the rows are highlighted, as you see here. Then, it’s the same process, hold down shift key, move cursor to bottom border, left click and hold, and move the cursor down to where you want the rows to be moved to, then release the click and hold and shift key, and the rows have been moved.
