Remove Rust From Aluminum Wheels With Aluminum Foil
Wash the wheel with water and car shampoo to remove dirt and brake dust.
Dry the wheel with a microfiber cloth.
Tear off a piece of aluminum foil and crumple it into a ball.
Dip the foil in water or a little vinegar/Coca-Cola for extra effect.
Gently rub the rusty or oxidized spots on the wheel.
Keep rubbing in small circles until the rust starts disappearing.
Wipe the area clean with a soft cloth.
Repeat if needed on stubborn spots.
Finish with wheel polish or wax to protect the surface and add shine.
Why it works
Aluminum foil is softer than the wheel surface, so it can remove light rust and oxidation without heavily scratching the rim. The chemical reaction between aluminum and rust also helps loosen corrosion.
Important
Works best for surface rust and oxidation.
Do not scrub too aggressively.
Avoid using this method on deep corrosion or damaged clear coat finishes
