In this DirtFarmerJay episode, we’ll show you step-by-step how to swap out the QuickLoad™ bump head with the genuine DeWalt® DW01DT995 replacement. It’s easier than you think, and with just a couple of tools you’ll have your trimmer running like new! 👉 Why Replace the Head? Our DeWalt® DCST922 came with a QuickLoad™ bump head that lasted a solid five years. Over time, wear and tear made it harder to load line smoothly, so replacement was the smart move. 👉 Compatible Models: The DW01DT995 replacement head fits several popular DeWalt® cordless trimmers, including: DCST920 DCST922 DCST925 DCST970 DCST972 DCST991 👉 Replacement Steps (Quick Overview): 1. Remove the cap from the old head and take out any leftover line. 2. Align the holes in the head and gear housing; insert a tool (we used a Torx driver) to lock it in place. 3. Loosen the left-hand thread nut (turn clockwise to loosen). 4. Remove the old head, clean underneath, temporarily remove the round metal plate, clean under it, and put it back in place. 5. Install the new QuickLoad™ head with the included dish-like ratchet plate. 6. Re-tighten the nut (it self-tightens further during operation). 7. Load with about 20 ft. of trimmer line (.080" or .095"). 💡 Pro Tip: A light spray of WD-40 inside the head keeps everything running smooth. 👉 Need help reloading line?
