Setup the Sterlitech Expanded Data Logging kit by simply following this video tutorial. 0:15 Tools needed 0:24 Install Picomag flow meter 1:23 Connect Picomag output to expanded data logging kit 1:40 Connect data kit signal port of cell unit to data kit signal port of expanded data logging kit 1:56 Mount permeate flow meter to expanded data logging kit 2:05 Connect cell to permeate flow meter 2:31 Connect outlet port of permeate fitting to collection device 3:09 Plug unit into a power supply 3:25 Connect expanded data logging unit to PC 3:37 Final notes Sterlitech Expanded Benchtop Data Logging Kit The Sterlitech Expanded Benchtop Data Logging Kit has all of the functionality of the Basic Data Logging Kit, including trend charts, data output, and standard and metric data readouts, as well as the additional functionality of 2 easily integrated sensors for Conductivity, Temperature and Permeate Flow Rate values. The unit has displays for each of the individual sensor values and outputs this data to the data logging software on the “CTP Data” Page. ==================== Today, we are setting up our Expanded Data Logging Kit with our benchtop unit. You will need everything that comes inside of your kit, as well as a couple of tools. We’re going to be using: - ⅞ inch and 13/16 inch wrench - Adjustable crescent wrench - Tube cutter We’ll first install our Picomag flow meter in line with the concentrate return line. This will be used for measuring the conductivity as well as the temperature. Let’s use our wrenches to hold the elbow on our return line in place, and then loosen the nut that’s holding the hose on there. Remove the hose, and then when we’re going to install our flow meter, make sure we refer to the direction of the flow. The inlet is going to be connected to the elbow. Hand tight the start and then connect the outlet of the flow meter to the hose of the return line. Once these are hand tight, let’s use our wrenches to hold these elbows in place and tighten these fittings by a ¼ turn. We will use an adjustable wrench to hold the fitting on our flow meter in place while tightening these fittings as well. Next, we’ll use our M12 cable to connect the output of our Picomag. We’ll plug the other end to the Picomag sensor one port on our expanded data logging kit. We’ll take one ethernet cable, we’ll connect it from the data kit signal port here on the back of our cell unit. And this will connect into your data kit single port on the front of your expanded data logging kit. Our permeate flow meter uses the clip on the back to simply mount to the side of our expanded data logging unit like that. Then I’ve used a tube cutter to cut a couple of sections of ¼ inch polypropylene tubing. We’ll use one length to connect the permeate port on the cell. Here I’m using a stainless steel CF042 cell. The other end is going to connect to the inlet side of our permeate flow meter. These are push-to-connect fittings, you simply put it in there and push. If you’re using a ⅜ permeate line, these are ¼ adapters so you can sift there to remove them. The outlet port of our permeate fitting is going to have another tube section in there, and we can route that to some sort of a collection device. Here I will be using a simple flask. We’ll use our second M12 signal cable to connect one end into sensor port number two. And then put that into the port on the top of your flow meter. Next, we can take our power cord, plug that in front of our unit, and plug this into a power supply. It should power up with this force. Then the final thing to do will be to connect your expanded data logging unit to your PC using the ethernet cable and this ethernet port. A couple of final notes, when you’re using our expanded data logging kit with a low-pressure FO or a convertible system, you will connect both of those units to the data kit signal using an ethernet splice adapter that comes with your kit. Please take a look at our MPD channel at https://www.sterlitech.com/mpd-guide. We have a video to walk you through how to connect using the ethernet cable to access your data logs and the virtual interface. ==================== Interested in the Sterlitech Benchtop Expanded Data Logging Kit?
