How to split tasks in Microsoft Project

Split tasks in Microsoft Project. This is a Microsoft Project tutorial covering split tasks, resource usage and resource allocation. The tutor starts off by creating one ten day tasks and uses the split task tool to split the task into two parts. The tutor then allocates a resource to the task and creates a second task. The second task has the same resource allocated, causing an overallocation. The tutor splits the screen to display the task usage view in the bottom half. With task usage you can allocate zero hours to part of a task, which in effect, splits the task.
