Welcome back to the rialbbe tv Linux App Series! 🚀 One of the biggest myths about Linux is that it lacks "pro-level" software. Today, we’re busting that myth again by showing you how to use the brand-new, native Split View in Firefox 149. For years, we had to rely on third-party extensions to see two tabs at once. But with the 2026 "COSMIC-era" updates, Mozilla has built this feature directly into the browser. Whether you're a student taking notes, a developer comparing code, or a researcher, this is a total game-changer for your workflow. In this episode, we’ll show you three ways to trigger Split View: The Quick Right-Click: Simply right-click any open tab and select "Add Split View." The Multi-Select: Hold Ctrl and click two tabs, then right-click to "Open in Split View." The Drag & Drop: How to simply pull a tab into the "Split Zone" to instantly divide your screen. Why this is better than the old ways: ⚡ Zero Lag: Because it's native, it doesn't slow down your browser like old extensions did. 📏 Smart Resizing: You can drag the divider between the two pages to give one side more room. 💾 Session Memory: If you close Firefox, it remembers your split-view layout when you reopen it! Bonus Tip for Linux Users: We also take a quick look at how Firefox 149 now uses the XDG Portal file picker by default. This means when you upload or save files, Firefox uses your actual Linux desktop's file manager (Nautilus, Dolphin, or COSMIC Files) instead of the old, clunky GTK3 window. It feels 100% native! If you think Linux is "missing" software, this episode is for you. Firefox is evolving faster than ever, and the Linux version is leading the way. Steps to try it now: Update to Firefox 149.0 or later. Right-click a tab. Select "Add Split View." Pick your second tab from the list. Done! 💬 What’s your favorite use for split-view? Comparing prices? Researching?
