Tantrums are frustrating and overwhelming for parents and children. Historically we have been taught to treat them through a behavioral lens meaning some thing that we should try to get rid of. However, tantrums are an important part of a children’s life and development, and can play a valuable part in teaching kids important skills. when we look at tantrums as developmental, milestones and communication deficits, then we can start to adapt our way of managing them in a way that deepens our relationship and builds an emotional foundation that children will benefit from for years to come.
