We teach beginner fly anglers how to use the Hemostat Clinch Knot to attach their flies, because we want to reduce as much frustration and barrier to entry as possible for those just learning to fly fish. However, for those who feel ready for the next challenge, we recommend attaching your flies with a Non-Slip Mono Loop, aka "Lefty’s Loop." The Loop Knot is stronger than a Clinch, which means you will loose fewer flies over time when using this method! It also allows your fly to move freely within the loop, increasing its realism and the likelihood that it will be eaten! Remember, always wet your knots before tightening!
