HTML - Nested Elements and Void Elements
This video is part of a playlist covering how to get a web development job and basic coding skills. The full playlist can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgF6apjFR90209B4o06e8qpNV7qUC-bUD ------------------------------------------------------------------- Lesson Description: We learn about nested elements and void elements. Additionally, we discuss the difference between void elements and regular elements that simply have no content inside of their opening and closing tags. Terminology: Nested Element - Refers to an HTML element inside the opening and closing tags of another HTML element. The Nested Element can be a regular HTML element with opening and closing tags, or it could be a Void Element. Void Element - An HTML element consisting of only a single tag, which cannot contain text content or other nested elements. Typically these are used for stylistic effects such as the "br" and "hr" elements, which break text into multiple lines or add a horizontal "rule" (a line) across the page. They are also commonly used to embed images in web pages with the "img" element. Sometimes Void Elements are known as "self-closing" elements, but this is not an official name. Void Elements do not need a "/" character at the end of the tag. The browser will ignore the "/" if you add it.
