Before they became commercially successful, Wang Chung (as Huang Chung) were regular performers at the 101 Club in the early 1980s.
They appeared on live compilation records tied to the club/label (101 Records), such as Live Letters – Bands Featured Live at the 101 Club.
Wang Chung were part of the core scene at the 101 Club, playing there repeatedly in their formative “Huang Chung” phase.
Some of their earliest recorded live material comes directly from those performances.
