HUD OCIO Learning Session - The generational divide

HUD OCIO Learning Session Short Description: Our workplaces are changing drastically with the introduction of technology, telecommuting, contracting out and the impact of globalization. Additionally, there are now often five generations working together. With these multiple generations come different values, perspectives and expectations which may be in conflict. Is this a hopeless situation or can we learn to respond effectively in this new environment? This presentation discusses how to break down stereotypes and build bridges instead of walls. Perhaps having five generations in the workplace is an amazing opportunity for us to have one of the strongest workforces we have ever had. There will be a special emphasis on the federal sector as well as best practices from all sectors (private, state and local, international).
