The contour of the manual surface is digitised by the digital measurement system. This prototype uses a model-based feature recognition technique, in which the recognition process employs a geometric model of a surface to store all of the features and their relative locations. To generate diverse expressions automatically, surface features are retrieved and contour data is manipulated.
