This video is the conclusion to the build of a 25 ton Hydraulic Forging press.
I designed the press so that I could work from the front or through the side of the frame.
The steel for the build came from machine frames that would have been scrapped. Hydraulic tank capacity is 25 gallons - I have 18 gallons of hyd. fluid in the tank.
I'm repurposing a 5hp-3ph-1750rpm motor - Single stage gear pump - .36cuin. - 3gpm to 5.3 gpm- I'm running the pump at 2800 rpms.
Purchased parts:
Hydraulic hoses, fittings, spool valve and gauge.
ISO-46 hyd. oil - 18 gallons
VFD- single ph input to 3ph output
5" x 12" hydraulic cylinder- 2.5" rod.
