I Am vs. Emptiness
A classic, yet artificial, dichotomy presented between non-dual Hinduism [advaita, kashmir shaivism] and non-dual Buddhism [Dzogchen and Mahayana doctrines] - I-Am-ness and Emptiness. In Buddhism there is Anatta, or no-self and this extended to total emptiness and all 'things' having no inherent existence or substance within the teachings of Nagarjuna and certain Vajrayana masters. In Hinduism is is stated that Atman is Brahman, Self is God, all is the Self, or all is Consciousness/Siva. I portray why the differences are mainly a mix of semantics and helpfulness. At differing complexities and tendencies, someone may need to realize the lack of constancy and substance of their self and all perceived objects/subjects/concepts. At another stage someone may need to realize that there is less than zero separation between their current present attentive existence or consciousness and that of God/The Goal. Both valuable, both lead to the one reality. My Website: https://ekamitayoga.com/
