Essentially, Fezziwig- a god trapped in the body of a cat, feels doubt towards his feelings for Rust- the reincarnation of his lover Helios. The mixture of greif and loss of Helios vs the gift Rust is, as the child Fezziwig could never have with Helios- leaves Fezziwig with conflicted emotions.
