I Spent Weeks Building This Pattern

I spent weeks building and refining this end grain pattern to get the precision lines flowing cleanly across the entire board. This is my original design (Stammherz). The challenge with patterns like this is finding the balance between precise geometry and the natural movement of wood during the entire build process. The process focuses on precision: accurate cuts, controlled glue-ups, and careful alignment so the pattern flows seamlessly from block to block while avoiding tension and gaps in the final assembly. After assembly, the board is flattened, sanded, and finished to highlight the natural grain and contrast of the wood. End-grain cutting boards are durable, knife-friendly, and allow complex patterns to fully reveal themselves only after the final glue-up and surfacing.
