In this video, I break down the iPhone 17e and why it feels like a weird upgrade over the 16e. Apple added MagSafe, a new A19 chip, Ceramic Shield 2, and a new color… but is that enough to justify the price? The original iPhone 16e already had issues. It launched at $599 with missing features like MagSafe and only one camera, which made it hard to recommend for a “budget” iPhone. The expectation was that these phones would become great value over time… not stay questionable year after year. Now with the 17e, Apple fixed some of those problems, but didn’t go far enough.
