Here we look at how we can identify vintage JRC4558 Op-amps used in the first issues of TS-808 and TS-9 Tube Screamers. These chips are somewhat sort after among boutique overdrive builders and those seeking to take new pedals to vintage spec.
The chips shown here were manufactured in 1985 and were retrieved from Ibanez audio equipment.
We also look at a relatively new JRC4558 in a new TS-9 Tube Screamer.
