Identity
Section 1: “Who I am” The song will start with a simple, calm melody played by a single instrument. It will feel peaceful and steady. This represents the personal side of identity. The family, culture, or background we’re born into. It’s the part of us that feels natural. Section 2: “The Noise” Then the song will start to change. The calm melody will get interrupted by harsher sounds like heavy drums and clashing notes. It will feel messy and uncomfortable. This represents the outside world stepping in. It is when society, politics, or other people start telling you what your identity means, sometimes in ways that stereotype or feel hurtful. It shows how identity stops being personal and becomes political. Section 3: “Finding Power” In this section, the chaos won’t just fade away. Instead the original melody will slowly come back, but this time it will be stronger. More instruments will join in, creating a fuller, richer sound. It won’t be simple like the beginning but it will also carry the memory of the struggle. This represents people taking back control of their identity. It is about pride, independence, and using identity as a source of strength. It is the idea behind movements like Black Lives Matter or LGBTQ+ Pride, where identity becomes a way to fight for recognition and equality.
