iKon Flybarless Gyro – Complete Setup Guide from Scratch
The complete setup guide for the iKon flybarless gyro — every menu, every step, start to finish. Covers binding the receiver, updating firmware, setting servo travel to 100% in all directions, reversing channels, setting gyro gain in the transmitter, configuring the three setup banks using an auxiliary channel switch, swash plate leveling, setting zero pitch at mid stick, setting full positive and negative pitch to 12 degrees, cyclic throw setup to 10 degrees, tail servo setup and travel adjustment, gyro orientation selection, and verifying correction directions before flight. Key warnings covered: do not press Set Level unless your main shaft is perfectly plumb with a bubble level — if auto level is set on an unlevel surface the helicopter will fly itself into the ground or a wall. A forum member learned this the hard way and damaged both the helicopter and his house. Also covered: why you need a linear pitch curve during setup, how to use the governor switch as a bank selector when you're not running a governor, servo frequency settings for digital and analog servos, and why the iKon takes about 10 minutes to program once you know what you're doing. Works with any radio — 6, 7, 8, 9 or more channels. Demonstrated on the Spektrum DX9. Rc-Help.com | Explaining RC The Way It Actually Works
