Gregory explains the working principles of an Impedance Converter Amplifier, from an HP 334A Distortion Analyzer.
The amplifier uses positive feedback heavily, to increase open-loop gain and to linearize the input impedance.
Full negative feedback locks the closed-gain at unity, cleaning the heavy non-linear effects of transistor amplification.
