So at the very beginning I make this error: 2.5-0.75 = 1.8.
Clearly, 2.5-0.75 = 1.75.
I didn't want to redo the entire problem, so I just left it.
Let's just say the outfielder jumps so that his glove is 2.55 m above the ground. Then:
2.55-0.75 = 1.8...
