A Grand Dame who brought joy to the Depression Era; a war veteran-turned-master of comedy. A maestro who brought new sounds to the world of film music; a prolific animator whose legacy is cemented in an iconic cat and mouse duo. These are just a few of the iconic roles of the artists we lost in 2020. In a year of ongoing sorrow, this annual tribute feels especially poignant. To the storied icons we knew, thank you for your gifts. To those not mentioned, may your legacy continue to shine. We love and respect you all the more.
