Increase the Accuracy by Decreasing Error Propagation

For the Analytical Balance Lab Exercise we find the c.g. of a scooter (in the lab manual) and the c.g. of an irregularly shaped board (in the laboratory.) How can we decrease the error propagation? Simply choose a convenient axis rotation for a our coordinate system.
