Induction Cup Type Relay
● This relay has four or more electromagnets, stationary iron core is placed between this electromagnets. ● The rotor is a hollow cylindrical cup which is free to rotate in the gap between the electromagnets and stationary iron core then the electromagnet are energized then induced voltage in the rotor cup and hence the eddy current . ● The eddy current due to one flux interact with the flux due to other core thereby a torque is produce similar to the induction disc type relay. ● The induction cup type relays are more sensitive than the induction disc type relay and are used in high speed application. ● The ratio of reset to pick-up is inherently high in the case of induction relay as compare to the attractive armature type relay. The ratio lies between 95% to 100%. ● The relay is fast in operation and their operating time is very less approximately 0.01 sec.
