In a demonstration of callous disregard for my own mental health, I've been reading threads about Intent again. Something that seems to come up often is an idea that two models standing next to one another should be able to ARO enemy troops and not engaged piecemeal, even though in practice engaging horizontally adjacent troops is quite straightforward to any experienced player with with a decent eye.
This video gives some examples of how you can present layered AROs without relying on mere horizontal adjacency.
