Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Matrix
This video details the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Development Matrix that was created as a part of a joint International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP) and United Nations Educational Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Project. The assumption is that the incorporation of ICT into a system is a dynamic process. This matrix provides a tool to help organizations determine their stage of ICT development and to help them set goals for the development of ICT. It features four approaches reflecting international trends across 8 areas of ICT uses in a system. It is hierarchical starting with basic use and ending with transforming institutions. The matrix is used by the World Bank to help nations plan for developing their educational systems. The author and narrator co-developed this matrix.
