In this video, I show what markets in Yakutsk look like and how they operate in extreme winter conditions. We visit three main markets: the clothing and household market “Stolichny,” the construction market, and the Krеstiansky food market. Many trading areas in Yakutia work outdoors all year round, even when temperatures drop below –50°C. Vendors continue to work in any weather, and some products can be stored outside because the extreme cold keeps them frozen. At the Stolichny market, we look at the outdoor stalls where people sell Christmas trees and seasonal goods. At the construction market, we see outdoor sellers offering tools, building materials, and household items. And at the Krеstiansky food market, local farmers and residents sell meat, fish, milk, vegetables, berries, and wild game from different regions of Yakutia. These markets show what everyday life in Yakutsk is really like and the conditions people are used to living and working in. 🎥 Watch More from Unknown Yakutia: Life and Traditional Winter Fishing in the Coldest Place on Earth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3vzxi9Pm8k&t=1s Life in a Remote Yakutian Village https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vSuotUypF0 The Dangers of Melting Ice Roads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tJaDlFvg-c&t=7s ❤️ Support the Channel If you enjoyed this video, please: 👍 Like the video 💬 Comment which experiment surprised you most 🔔 Subscribe for more life and science from the coldest place on Earth! 🏷️ Tags #ExtremeCold #Yakutia #FrozenExperiments #WinterScience #BoilingWaterFreeze #LifeInYakutia #ColdestPlaceOnEarth
