Install and configure VS Code for Remote SSH on Windows
In this one I show you how to set up VS Code on Windows so you can connect to your Linux server over SSH and edit remote files directly — no more messing about with terminal windows or copying config files back and forth. By the end, we're connected to an Ubuntu Docker server, browsing the media Docker folder, and editing compose files right from VS Code on Windows. ✅ Install Visual Studio Code on Windows ✅ Add the Remote SSH extension from Microsoft ✅ Generate SSH keys with PowerShell (ed25519) ✅ Copy your public key to your Linux server ✅ Connect VS Code to your remote server via SSH ✅ Browse and edit remote files as if they're local This guide is aimed at beginners and home lab enthusiasts, so no prior VS Code or SSH experience is required.
