Today's episode features Hoaglandscape building a koi pond in a backyard with tight access.
The koi pond is a beautiful water feature that highlights a backyard that also undergoes a landscape makeover. Learn about the specific aquatic and landscape plants that make this back yard beautiful!
The water feature is challenging to get to as the crew takes one or two boulders at a time into the backyard with a small dingo tractor. Leveling the pond is crucial on a hillside that features a two-foot drop. Dirt is hauled in one wheelbarrow at a time as we slowly lift the back edge of the pond to make it level.
After that, we install our underlayment and EPDM 45 mil rubber liner and meticulously install the pond's boulder's including a beautiful sitting stone. The water feature is completed with a 13-foot stream that also has a drop of more than two feet. The curved stream features four waterfalls and all of them are lit with Aquascape LED one-watt lights.
Finally, the landscape goes in with new mulch to complete this backyard paradise!
