An intermatic pool timer is the one that most pool owners use. They will last for years and are very easy to use and install. Changing the time only takes a few seconds. Before doing any repairs be sure the pump motor and breaker box are turned OFF.
The most common pool timer is 240 volt and 120 volt but the most pools have the 240V.
If your timer is not working the best thing is to simply replace it. It's fairly easy to do and only takes a few minutes to install.
Remember to run the pump motor 4 - 6 hours in the Winter (off season) and 10 - 12 hours in the Summer (on season).
