The SPF supports this project for young researchers to make policy proposals regarding Japan's security strategy from a long term perspective.
The study group led by Prof. Dr. Satoru Mori at Hosei University, regularly invites to the meetings not only Japanese policy practitioners but also US researchers working on US grand strategies and/or geopolitics.
This time, Prof. Dr. Christopher Layne at Texas A&M University was invited by the group.
The research is now underway to draft policy proposals that take into account broad perspectives and long-term strategies on the basis of redefining core interests of Japan.
