Double gyroid structures are comprised of two separate, interwoven networks that are both continuous in 3 dimensions. These networks are typically comprised of interconnected nodes, each with three connecting struts. This loop defect in the double gyroid structure is comprised of 6 nodes, four with 3 struts each and two with 4, forming a smaller loop than those created by the typical connectivity of the double gyroid. This defect can be named donut 6-4,3,4,3^3 by naming the type of defect and total number of nodes, then going around the donut starting from the node with the highest functionality.
